SieLam was founded by Niny Lam in 1998. While Niny was doing her research on "the history of violin making & manufacturing in China" in 1991 (University of Music & Performing Arts, Vienna), she traveled around China and interviewed most of the well-known Chinese violin makers and manufacturers. During her career as a violinist and violin teacher, she gained valuable experience & understanding of the needs of students and professionals. She was then inspired to promote well-crafted, good quality instruments from China in Spain.

Now the family team works closely with customers and partner suppliers to maintain the solid growth of the company. Over the past few years, SieLam has become one of the most reputable Chinese stringed instruments distributors in Europe. Products are sold in Spain, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Portugal and Scandinavian countries. Sielam's house brands, Col Legno carbon fibre bows and SieLam instruments are very well received by professionals, teachers and students alike.
